Have any Bonjour Paris readers been on a WiFi equipped flight. Did you like it or hate it??

The New York Times was reading your mind ;-) But Al, I want to know about cruises and that cost...
I won't take one unless I can get online. I fear I'd have a nervous breakdown ---- sigh.
Amazing how timely these postings are. In today's Business Section of the NYTimes was the following....

Al - you are 1000% correct. You do need ask. Some hotels in London charge an arm and a leg and it's scandalous.

I don't know about cruise ships. I suspect the price varies radically - if it's available at all. Better ask than be shocked when you have to pay the bill! K

KAREN....I was talking about WiFi in general, not just airlines. One of the large hotel chains has NO CHARGE in their mwedium priced venues but charge by time in their deluxe hotels. Some hotels have no charges in the lobby but high charges in the rooms. Regent Cruises have a connection charge and follow with a choice of 3 plans for the minutes with the highest option being 55cents per minute. WiFi is important for many travelers and there is no way of knowing until one asks. It almost seems as if competition is not a factor.
Al: My understanding is that there's a fixed price. Approximately $12 for flights less than four hours - and about $15 for longer flights. The fees are not set in stone. Thank goodness, they don't charge by the minute or some of us might be broker than broke.
On the subject of WiFi have you noticed that some places offer it with no charge.....while others offer it with charges (plans based on rates for time spent). If it doesn't say FREE WiFi be prepared for what I consider as "shocking" charges per minute.
Has anyone taken a flight that has WiFI? It is coming (has come). How stable is it? Do you consider it a plus?
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! ohmy.gif

It's already bad enough during boarding and landing, listening to everyone get those o-so-important calls in ("hi, I'm in the plane...")... I don't even want to think about an international flight with people yakking on their cell phones.
Are you going to consider this a minus or a plus?

Some airlines are already equipped. Have any of our readers flown on these planes?
