For the first time since we've had children, we're going out of town for Thanksgiving (alas, not Paris). I plan to take copious amounts of French wine.

the wine is the best. As you know, Thanksgiving is not a French holiday. It's only in the past several years that people can get large turkeys without pre-ordering them. The first turkey I ordered (20 years ago) cost more than $100. It was relatively small but was it tender.
Actually, now that I think of it, we're having a pre-Thanksgiving dinner in a couple of weeks for some friends since we'll be away for the actual day and I'm serving daube.I know we've discussed it on the BP boards before, but if any readers have a favorite daube recipe you'd be willing to share, I'd love having it.

Thanksgiving is coming sooner than we think. Are any BP readers incorporating something French into their celebrations? How many of you will be in Paris?
Mike,
Thanks for posting the Art Buchwald article; I had completely forgotten about it.
I enjoy reading it each time - my favorite is Kilomètres Diboutish.

Hello ...
A few years ago, someone posted this article (Young Lady Mimi I seem to remember)...
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...5112302056.htmlFor those of us who understand French and English it is the best and the funniest article about "Thanksgiving" I have ever read...
Happy belated "Jour de Merci Donnant" à tous...
Mike
