Corsica Practicalities

Transportation:

Flights are available into and out of the cities of: Ajaccio, Bastia, and Calvi

Ferries are available from France and Italy from:  Nice, Toulon, Marseille, Genoa, Livorno, and Santa Teresa (Sardinia) and to: Ajaccio, Bastia, Calvi, Ile Rousse, and Bonifacio

Corsica can be explored by car, the local train system (there are two lines, one from Bastia to Ajaccio and the other from Calvi to Bastia), or by bus.  The local tourist offices are very helpful with information about transportation times and options as well as providing local maps and other free information.  More information is also available at the Corsica tourism websites: www.visit-corsica.com or from the Corsican tourist office at 04 95 51 00 00.

Welcoming guesthouse atmosphere with either private rooms or dorm-style bunkhouse rooms available.  Dinner included for several euros more which is worth the price for the food considering the few dining options in the small town.
