It must have been foresight when my mom decided to name me Claudine. A very French name, but really she just liked the name and at the time Claudine Longet was pretty popular (before the unfortunate gun accident) but now I think she knew where my fascination would go.

I come from a long line of Francophiles, my great great aunts traveled to France many times in the 1920’s and my grandparents fell in love with Paris, Normandy and Chamonix and all things French. Although I have not made it to France yet I have lived through the hundreds and hundreds of photos and stories from my grandparents and aunts, I feel as if I already know it so well. But hope to actually make it there someday very soon.

My other love is cooking and that combined with my love of all things French brought me to the project I am doing today, cooking my way through the Tour de France and each region of France. I find the history of French cooking and the dishes that vary based on where they are and what is specific to that region so fascinating. The passion and the love that goes into recipes and using what is fresh and near you is what I adore about French Cuisine and hope to share with others.
